An informational event was held at Michigan State University, Dubai to promote IEEE on Tuesday, 26th January. This event headed by Dr Boutheina Tlili, the IEEE Women In Engineering (WIE) chair of UAE section, cast light on the opportunities and privileges offered by IEEE. Dr Tlili shared her experience as a member and how IEEE can benefit the students now and later as professionals. Student scholarships, international competitions, building up of network, student compensation and discounts, valuable internship opportunities were some of the topics elaborated at this event. Most importantly, she discussed how it enhances professionalism and leadership skills giving students great job opportunities in the future. Many students were convinced that IEEE can help them in many ways in their academic and professional careers. More than twenty six students participated in this event. Pizza was served and some Raffle draws took place. Twenty six students and three faculty members attended the meeting. |
